1. Design:

The Aspire E5-575G-53VG is handsome enough but subdued. The body is black, plastic framework, and it features a subtle t pattern with a good finish somewhere between shiny and matte. As a result, the laptop looks even unremarkable, which is maybe exactly what heavy-duty productivity users want.

Because the whole body is made of plastic, do not expect any elegant metallic touches or accents. The Aspire E5 weighs approximately 5.27 pounds, which is a little more than other competitors’ models like the HP Notebook 15 or the Asus F555UA, both 4.8 pounds.

The size is also approximately what you had expected for a laptop with a 15-inch screen: For comparison, the two competitors’ models mentioned above are within two-tenths of an inch on every measurement.

2. Connectivity:

The Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG is quiet, and it is good when it comes to ports. You will find three USB ports, one USB Type-C connector, an HDMI port, and an Ethernet port on the sides of the device.

An SD card reader on the exterior and a writable DVD drive on the right side round out the giving.. the one complaint is that two of the USB ports are pretty close to each other, which make it a bit hard to attach multiple wires if the attachments are instead a little bigger than average.

3. Display:

Acer Aspire E5’s has15.6-inch screen features reasonable and comes with 1080p resolution, but it provides a light output and poor colour accuracy.

When we tested the Acer aspire E5-575G-53VG with our colourimeter, the laptop reproduced an impressive 143 per cent of the sRGB colour.

That’s miles ahead of the Notebook 15 and F555UA, which clocks in at approximately 63 and 64%, about, as well as the 89% category average. Unluckily, in this case, the gamut number doesn’t tell the story.

The screen is quite dull, with almost 195 nits of brightness. You must note that the category average is 250, and competitors such as the Notebook 15 (220) and F555UA (223) are much brighter. The E5’s panel makes for some disappointing videos.

The Next Generation, and was routinely disappointed by the dull reds and yellows of the characters’ uniforms and the grey pallor of the whole ship. The Acer Aspire E5 made the usually inviting Enterprise-D look like the most diminutive fun ship in Starfleet.

There are no various screen options aside from adjusting general brightness, so what you see is better than what you get, and you won’t see much if you angle yourself more than 45 degrees away l.

The Acer Aspire E5’s screen still gets the job done, for the most part. Notably the screen’s rich, though, we had hoped for much better.

4. Audio:

The speakers of Acer aspire to pass, but we couldn’t suppose using them for anything but streaming video with one friend. The speakers are capable of producing quite loud noise, at least. We tried them out with a different song.

We could hear the vocals over our testing lab, but blasting them at high volumes caused a minor disturbance. More severe than that was the profound lack of bass and the almost sharp focus on treble. However, lyrics and high voices were explicit, lower tones got muddled and sucked a lot of the joy out of both music and dialogue.

5. Keyboard and Touchpad:

The size, approximately 4.1 x 3.0-inch touchpad on the Aspire E5, looks inviting enough, but looks can be deceiving. Touch this keyboard, and you will find that it’s rubbery and completely too resistant.

When you move the cursor over the desktop it takes forever, and clicking feels shallow. At least the touchpad handled two-, three- and four-fingered gestures with fidelity.

The keyboard is the quiet offender here. With only 1.65mm of essential travel and 58-gram actuation, these keys sound perfectly passable by productivity-laptop standards; the F555UA is comparable.

However, Notebook 15 is much shallower. Numbers can be misleading, though, as typing on this machine was profoundly uncomfortable.

6. Processor:

Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG features an Intel Core i5-6200U processor with 2.3 GHz of dual-core power and 8GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD hard drive.

However, it is by no means the most powerful laptop out there, and it handles everything up to and including midrange gaming with ease.

At one stage, we had active video streams in Netflix, Hulu, Twitch, and YouTube simultaneously, performing a typing test in another tab and playing music in the background.

The CPU was frequently working at 100 % load, but it still managed to hold everything running with an absolute minimum of slowdown. In terms of raw power, the Acer Aspire E5 best evaluates a machine’s overall performance.

7. Graphics:

Another essential feature is the graphic card. One of the Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG’s best features is its Nvidia 940MX discrete graphics card. It has 2 GB memory.

This card is not the most modern and greatest model in Nvidia’s arsenal, but it usually elevates a reasonably standard work device into a better decent gaming rig.

However, you will not be able to run The Witcher III in 4K with the textures cranked up. We had a lot of fun with more miniature demanding games like Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, Marvel Heroes, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition.

If you intend to do some gaming, the Aspire E5’s separate graphics card is a significant benefit; neither the Notebook nor the F555UA possesses one.

8. Battery life:

The Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG is one of the best and long-lasting varieties of life. The 15-inch laptops we’ve tested this year, especially in their price range. It is one of the best.

On the Laptop Mag Battery Test, which involves web surfing over Wi-Fi, the Notebook lasted 9 hours and 43 minutes, which is more than the average workday and all but the longest international flights. The HP Notebook 15 and the F555UA lagged far behind, giving 5:51 and 5:39, perfectly.

Bottom Line – Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG Review:

Apart from its uncomfortable keyboard and touchpad, the Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG is a decent laptop for the price. It looks lovely and lasts a long time on a charge, and it also performs well for both productivity and light gaming.

The HP Notebook 15 gives a more attractive design but less endurance; however, the Asus F555UA sports a faster Core i7 CPU but suffers from a lower-res, 1366 x 768-pixel screen.
