How to enable and disable the keyboard

On a Windows PC, why would someone need to deactivate or activate the keyboard? Assume you and your child are watching movies on your computer. 

In such a situation, you’ll probably need to temporarily deactivate, activate, or block the keyboard to prevent the toddler from stopping or advancing the movie by pressing the keys.

Disable the keyboard

The drawback is that when you deactivate the keyboard and mouse, it shows a dark screen. So, if you need to watch a movie after turning off the keyboard and mouse, this programme isn’t ideal.

Enable keyboard

You may activate the keyboard by following the instructions below. When you see a shortcut for on-screen appear in the search results, go to Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard or hit the Windows key and start typing “keyboard” and press enter.

The on-screen keyboard is toggled by the first button at the top. In addition, Windows typically places a button near the clock in the far right corner of the taskbar that toggles the on-screen keyboard.

 It’s conceivable that you accidentally pressed this button. Right-click anywhere on the toolbar and uncheck the option for “Show touch keyboard button” to get rid of it.
